This project explores queer identity, performativity, and contemporary craft by approaching the artist’s body as a dynamic meeting point between Taiwan’s Ballroom (Voguing) culture and bodily experiences of a jewellery artist. 

Through the lens of jewellery practice and physical performance, the research develops a distinct artistic language to capture the "Moment of Becoming" in motion.

Drawing on the artist’s decade-long lived experience as an "Alien" within the global circulation of Ballroom culture. The author addresses the complex layers of power dynamics, class barriers, and cultural incompatibilities experienced by Asian queer subjects when navigating Western-centric aesthetic and institutional frameworks.

Central to the project is a non-verbal survival strategy, using stainless steel wire as a metaphorical intervention to interrupt movements and reorient the body. Through the combination of jewellery and performance, the work is looking for a perpetual escape for the queer subject, a free space "between complete and incompleteness," in the discourses of social systems, where one can continuously negotiate and transform their inner reality, allowing space to breathe.
