My goal with this degree project is to design a Cold Bathhouse for the City of Stockholm. Because a cold bathhouse has long been in demand by the citizens since the Strömbadet was closed in 1933. As well to create new meeting places on the water in Stockholm city. And because people have long used cold baths as a health cure, and research has shown several positive health effects.

The bathing tradition can not only provide improved health or relaxation, but it can also enable social sustainability by meeting people in connection with bathing where class, gender or status is equal have no meaning. And how sauna and bathing bring you into contact with the elements of nature – fire, water, steam and air.

Fantastic cold baths & saunas can be found all over the Nordics, except in Stockholm. There are nice cold bathhouses all over Sweden. It's strange that Stockholm, with its water and islands, doesn't have one.
