This essay reflects on my journey as a Brazilian migrant in Europe and how themes of migration, memory, and belonging have shaped my art. Through the lens of displacement, loss, and reconnection, I explore how colonialism, globalization, and capitalism have redefined the idea of home. My art became a way to process these emotions and find new forms of identity, using nature, family, and community as sources of healing and resistance. The concept of radical tenderness, encountered during an immersive workshop in Italy, further deepened my understanding of love and care as a revolutionary practice. In my current work, including my first solo exhibition, maybe memory is all the home you get, I explore how memory, place, and identity shape the migrant experience and emphasize that home is not just a physical space, but an ongoing practice of connection.
