In this project, methods for architecture with choreography
is developed, by dancing, recording, notating, tracing and
carving out the movements, all through a generative process
where multiple elaborations lead to a design proposal - a
dance floor interior, an architectural structure that emerged
from the development of a method.
Thesis question:
Can choreography help to reformulate
space and the relationship between the
preprogrammed spatial and improvised?
The final design proposal is a result of a process that started
with dance and results in a visual charged environment
and an instruction for improvisation. This interactive dance
floor platform influences the participant’s movements
and highlights the body awareness playfully. It is a
choreographical object and a project about how knowledge
from dance and choreography could influence the way our
surrounding is produced and also perceived.
