BUILDING PIECES
I want the children to explore spatiality both high and low, in both open and closed structures. By reading the literature, comparing playhouses and huts, visiting preschools and following my own child, I have come to the conclusion that I do not want to create a given space, but instead design modules so the children can create their own spatiality to include stimulating their own creativity. There are too many things that we adult control and determine how it should be after what we think that children want, but with Building Pieces they can create their own space and build their own unique piece. This will give them not only creativity, activity and quality in playing but also an opportunity to think and learn about creating different spaces and architectural phenomenon. They can build on their own, with friends or adults. Nothing is right or wrong what they are building the most important thing is that they have the choice and opportunity to do so.
