For my project, I was inspired by old decorative painting traditions and I chose to put them in a more modern context. I am inspired by the decorative approach of handling the surface and by letting patterns and decorative elements take the limelight. In the project, I investigate the lines and the surface and how they form patterns together.

I want craft to meet function and then to bring these two elements together. My work with the furniture that my project resulted in was based on the body. I want it to be a meeting of the body, the mind and the materiality of the furniture.

I mitt projekt har jag blivit inspirerad av gamla dekorationsmåleritraditioner och valt att placera dekorationsmåleriet i ett modernare sammanhang. Jag inspireras av det sättet att ta sig an ytan och låta mönster och dekorativa element få stå i centrum. I projektet undersöker jag linjen och ytan och hur de tillsammans bildar mönster. Jag vill att hantverk ska få möta funktion och sedan placera ihop dessa två element. I arbetet med den möbel som mitt projekt resulterat i har jag utgått från kroppen. Jag vill att det ska bli ett möte mellan kroppen, sinnet och möbelns materialitet.
