Abstract [en]

Language is part of our identity and home can be defined as the place where people speak your language. Having a multilingual background, Tobias Gutmann searches for his personal visual language. He tries to unlearn and escape conventional language patterns and explores how meaning is created through representation and context. His new language is based on systematically created abstract shapes, that underlay a defined grammar. Experimenting with unusual writing instruments, he explores playful, alternative ways of expressing ideas.
