I have made an  installation for my degree project with objects made from foam rubber, textiles  and embroidery. I make dumbbells and an exercise machine, and explore the  contrast between hard and masculine body building aesthetics in colour and images, and typically soft and femininetextile handcraft. Light and sound will be  important components in the installation to achieve the atmosphere that I want  to create.

Materials are subordinate to the  idea, but they can also inspire. I often work like this, between materials and  ideas, design and art. The tactility and versatility of textiles can be used to  create exciting spatial experiences. In the future, I envision myself working  with different spaces – public, site specific and in the white cube.
