The dissertation deals with the potential of employing lived personal experiences as content in artistic production. Through prose and creative writing, it reflects on and remembers episodes from a severe depression that led to long-term hospitalisation in 2022. It articulates experiences of feeling suicidal, documents electroshock treatment, self-harm, and recovery. It argues that the personal resonance between the viewer and the artwork can provide nuances and genuineness in discussing the social conditions in our lives and time.
