bell break, heart cage is a text montage that intertwines essayistic form with narrative poetry and experiments with text in relation to sound and form. The body that can host or contain other bodies and themes such as open-heart surgery, transplantation, recovery, pregnancies, desires, and love are explored. Shards of lived experiences and physical memories are approached through bursts of language. The montage utilizes text but also challenges it, striving to remain intimately connected to the senses. The recurring motif of the container, an object capable of gathering other objects, is associated with both the rib cage and the womb, as well as with the structure of the montage itself.
