Distinctions is an exhibition of objects and brooches at rest, awaiting interaction with the bodies, spaces and objects that will de- and recontextualise them in a constantly shifting relational dialogue. For Anders Ljungberg, materials and objects are in constant flux in relation to their environment or situation. He sees between them agreements that create conditions for each other’s existence and believes that to fully understand the different states of an object, we need to define distinctions between object and material, space, the activating and activated body and other objects. The work in this exhibition examines this, only to realise how transition creates new distinctions in an ongoing state of flux.
