Abstract [en]
A handrail is something that leads and supports your hand – a spatial safety element that can provide both physical as well as mental guidance. How can a handrail shape a room? This project reinvents the handrail as a sculptural support. By combining strong, spatial structures with situated scents from nature, the aim is to deepen the understanding and practice of spatial design as a support system for the human body and mind. The project speculates around how scents from nature could have a calming effect on us in our stressful everyday environments.
