In this essay I explicate the positions behind my interdisciplinary artistic practice through a lens of Deleuzian and neo-materialist philosophy, as well as theories of affect and post-colonial geology. Harnessing lived experiences of chronic pain and both acquired and inherited trauma, I examine the gothic character of embodiment and material existence, the nature of temporality, history and movement and their relation to time-based artistic media such as film and performance.
